House of Earth and Blood

Bryce Quinlan had the perfect life-working hard all day and partying all night-until a demon murdered her closest friends, leaving her bereft, wounded, and alone. When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. She’ll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths.

Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purpose-to assassinate his boss’s enemies, no questions asked. But with a demon wreaking havoc in the city, he’s offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach.

As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent City’s underbelly, they discover a dark power that threatens everything and everyone they hold dear, and they find, in each other, a blazing passion-one that could set them both free, if they’d only let it.

My Honest Rewiew

After Reading the book, here is what I think about it.

It didn’t feel like a read. I wished it had been more and flew throughout the narrative!

The initial half of House of Earth and Blood was undoubtedly slower given we had to be introduced into the world. And what a world that is huge it had been. So many personalities with many arcs. Some phrases took time to consume but I completely redesign SJM for the sophistication and thoroughness. The final third of this book was my favorite. It had been insanity and strength with emotional moments and plot twists. I bit my nails I awful shouted and I whooped for your surprises.

I enjoyed Bryce a whole lot. Personality and her attitude made her badass. Made her that much rougher. However, Bryce wasn’t completely without vulnerabilities.

Hunt has been a reasonable love interest for Bryce. Both a tiny had been a match. Together with Crescent City I really enjoyed the familial and friendship bonds far more. Bryce and Ruhn were significant although complex. Bryce, Lehabah and Syrinx were cute.

There were a great deal of gender chat and opinions but not a great deal of actions. I had been expecting more but I didn’t mind the lack thereof. What we obtained of Bryce and Hunt was adequate. Understanding SJM’s style, although I fully expect her to carry things All of the way and farther from another book;)

Total of intensity and feelings it had been just one hell of a study. I can’t wait to find out what other hints SJM has got her up sleeves!
